This site chronicles my experience as a rock DJ on WNUR - Northwestern University's entirely student run college radio station. WNUR broadcasts with 7200 watts on frequency 89.3 FM to Evanston and north Chicago, and the rock show is a significant portion of its programming. My involvement started in the fall of 2002 and went through fall of 2004. For me, it was a great way to learn and express my interest in rock music and broadcast. During my time on air, I collected a lot of information about the station and about the programming on the rock show; it is of interest to me and to the other two-hundred-plus student volunteers at WNUR so I thought I would share some of it here.
There is a lot of content and information in the two main sections of the site: Text and Audio. In Text, you can find information used to train new DJ's on station and rock show policy and philosoph. There is information used to teach DJ's about music and hone their on air and programming skills. Also, I kept track of everything I played on air and this information can be found in the playlists subsection. The audio section includes recordings of some of my DJ sets and also bands who played at WNUR and who I recorded for the station and other programs and CD's. Also, please visit WNUR's website to listen to live broadcast via the web or for information about programming and events.
